Close Encounters of the Echo Kind - Bre

November 22, 2004 - theSTART live at Graceland, Seattle, WA.

UNGH. Okay, around 3 Chev and Brittany showed up at my house. Almost immediately after, Don got out of the shower and we headed to AMPM for road munchies. Got to Graceland, went to REI for potty-time, then went back over to the venue. Waited forever. Finally mom showed up, then Stormi showed up. Yay! Brittany proceeded to molest Stormi's jacket 'cause she had the same one (and I have the same one too! Weird.). Eventually Julia also showed up. Much waiting and waiting... meanwhile Brittany was smacking these guys' asses and otherwise hitting on them (they turned out to be in the opening bands, heh). Finally theSTART do their soundcheck and we all haul ass to the other doors 'cause it turned out we were supposed to go in that way anyhow. A lot has changed at the Graceland since I've been there. I stood there in complete and utter bliss while they played Her Song and You, Me and a Knife. UNNNNGH. So lovely. Right then was when mom decided she was gonna stay for the show. She cannot resist the glory! Heh. Nothing else eventful happened so I'm just gonna skip ahead. We finally get inside around 6:30 and plop all our shit down. Checked out theSTART's merch and I was kinda upset to discover that they rasied their prices. Oh well.

I don't remember the first band at all, but the second band, I believe they were called The Four Color Process, SUCKED MY ASS. I really fucking hate emo. All during their set mom and I were making crybaby faces at each other. Heeee! Chev sang us a song about how her thong makes her emo.

Somewhere in here Don bought me the new hoodie. Oh god, it's glorious. I wanted to get a shirt as well but we didn't really have any more money.

Aiden ruled my ass. Although the fact that the singer was wearing that pink HIM shirt really bugged me. I don't get why everyone loves that damn band. But that's another story.

Paris, Texas did nothing for me and mom kept commenting about how the singer was trying to be Mick Jagger. She was highly amused by this.

So they left the stage and I hauled ass to the front with my shit-tastic camera. I was kinda pissed that the whole front row was taken and I had to settle for being behind these semi-tall guys. Aimee came out and they played Initiation. Jesus, she is so fucking beautiful. Wow. It's not something you think you can forget, but jesus. She seriously glows. Then came Peacocks, and the rest of the setlist is fuzzy. But they played 13 songs in all. Lucky, lucky me. All during the set I wanted to KILL these guys in front of me 'cause they were just... STANDING there! I mean, if you're not really gonna enjoy it, GO TO THE BACK! There's people behind you with shitty cameras who need to be close! ARGH! So I only got 41 pictures this time and almost half of them aren't even useable. They have the guys heads in them. So after... The 1234? I think? They left the stage and we started screaming for more. I know they do this at every show, DON'T SHATTER MY ILLUSIONS! Heh! They came back out for Shakedown. I hobbled back up to where mom was sitting and grabbed my stuff, and we left immediately, which PISSED ME OFF. I wanted to talk to Aimee and possibly get my 7th pic with her taken, but nooooooo. And I wanted to meet Erick! DAMNIT! Didn't even get to say bye to Stormi. Hmmph.

It was a fantastic show. Fantastic. Mark my words, I will NEVER miss them again. EVER.

March 29, 2003 - theSTART live at The Vera Project/Ladyfest, Seattle, WA.

Don and I had been to The Vera Project before. Somehow, we managed to completely forget where it was. So Moshie, Chev, Julia, Don and I cruised the surrounding streets for about an hour and a half looking for it. Finally we gave up on driving and found a place to park. We came across a phone book and found the address (which turned out to be wrong. WTF?!?!), and then I was asked for a smoke by this creepy guy. I gave him one, then he proceeded to mumble something. I was like, "Huh?" and he repeated it quietly again (there's traffic passing constantly, mind you) and said "Think about it. It's in a different language." O_o Now, I would have looked whatever he said up if I could have HEARD HIM. Sorry, this is very off topic, but it disturbed me.
AT LAST we found the damned place. We hung up huge-ass banner (which is now it's official name), and went inside. Jen jumped on Don as soon as we walked in. I guess she had been waiting awhile for us to show. The band we walked in on was amazing, but as usual, I didn't catch their name *bitchslaps herself*. During an intermission of sorts, we all went and bugged Aimee at the merch table. Ohhhhh the stuff I bought. I wished I could get every single one of the pins, but meh. I settled for getting 6 different pink and purple ones. Don bought me "theSTART heart" shirt I've been wanting. Aimee commented on my new haircut and proceeded to molest my dome.
Around this time The Transformers were about to perform. They asked everyone to sit down and we watched this group of girls dressed as guys dance and lip-sync to N'Sync. At first I was kinda disgusted, but it ended up being very entertaining.
King Cobra was next. OH. MY. GOD. Fucking... 3 chicks. The singer was also the drummer, and she played their entire set STANDING UP. They all had moustaches painted on. But the singer was the female equivalent of Serj Tankian. Excellent. She made a comment about halfway through their set about how she was on her period and everyone fucking screamed for joy. Someone in the audience screamed "NEXT WEEK!!!!!" My god Ladyfest kicks ass.
Transformers performed again, and this time it looked like they were being all supportive of the war in Iraq holding up signs. Then they flipped them over and it was suddenly all "Impeach Bush". Effing fantastic!
theSTART. Oh yes. Don, Jen, Chev, Julia and I all hauled ass FRONT AND CENTER. FINALLY! I was watching Sarah set up and she is so damn gorgeous. Damnit... I'm having a hard time remembering the setlist again... was it Los Angelos they started with this time? I cannot remember for the life of me. After Los Angelos, Aimee was bitchin' about how that's America's mentality. "It's just a little mess, I'll clean up later." Everyone was kinda silent... it was uncomfortable. Then she was like "It's true!" and they started the next song. Annnnnnnnddddd I don't remember what it was. I do know they played the following songs: Los Angelos, DVS, The 1234, Gorgeous, Nemesis, Hi Flyer, Glimmer Man, and Shakedown. THERE WE GO. Heh. Probably not in that order though. Aimee dedicated Gorgeous to all the bands that played that night and proceeded to list them off with the help of Sarah, who was counting them off on her fingers.
"By the way, we're theSTART. We're from that red van out there."
I am SOSOSO sorry, but that's all I can remember from the set. I need to start taking memory pills... maybe I was just too busy rocking out.
After they finished, we bombarded Sarah and got signatures and pictures. She signed "huge-ass banner" :) and Jen professed her undying love to her. Soooooo cute! Jen mentioned that she played bass as well, and then Chev couldn't help herself and yelled "Bre's a bassist too!" and I'm like "I am NOT!" Sarah says "Yes you are!" It was sweet, but I kinda don't wanna refer to myself as a musician for the time being... bad former band experiences :/
Mom handed me some money to go get her a shirt because she was gonna go outside to smoke, so we headed back over to the merch table. I was having trouble walking 'cause I fucked up my neck and back headbanging, and I guess it was kinda obvious that I was in pain 'cause Aimee came up behind me and gave me a back massage. I kinda felt weird, because if anything, SHE was probably the one who needed it. But it was very nice. We all got pics, and Julia was so fucking happy 'cause she'd been waiting for a really long time to meet Aimee. Her grin in the picture will tell you that. So then I bought mom's shirt ("MEDIUM? You're too tiny!" - Sarah. "No, it's for my mom." Hehe), and bought more pins and another shirt. It's fucking sweet, it's the Eno shirt but the graphic is inverted and it's blue and pink. But then we had to gooooooooo... it was sad. I told Aimee I'd see her in Arizona in June and she said I was crazy. I left feeling very contented but halfway home it dawned on me that I'd forgotten to tell Aimee happy birthday :'( I feel really bad. I'm still making her a present and I'm gonna give it to her in AZ. She's gonna fucking love it...
I also managed to miss Stephanie. I feel like such a moron, I just remembered that I looked at her during the show and DIDN'T RECOGNIZE HER. *slapslapslap* I'm sorry dude!

September 20, 2002 - theSTART live at The Paradox, Seattle, WA.

Our day wasn't off to a very good start... we'd been stuck in traffic on highway 99 for a good while, and it was officially "road rage mommy" day. But Don, mom, Brandon and I finally made it to The Paradox. I wasn't too impressed with what I could see on the outside, but didn't really care. It had been a while since I'd seen the most glorious band in the world. We park the car about a block away, and walk up to see Jamie walking Eno around and Aimee walking around on her cell. After she gets off, we show her our huge-ass banner that we made for them. She does the awe thing a little, and the 2 girls (STILL don't know their names) that are almost always there say "You guys make us look bad!" So I'm like, I'm sorry! Aimee says something like "Screw that, you guys make US look bad! We don't even have OUR banner with us!" Jamie peeks a little and I tell him we got pretty high off sharpie fumes to show our devotion. He says something like "Yeah, those things are lethal." Aimee and I discuss the Brandon-attacking that is inevitable. Hehehe. I sent mom across the street to get me batteries for my digi, and we just kinda hung out for a long time. I got really really bored after Aimee, Jeff, Jamie, Puke and Brian went to get food, so I decorated the trash can and phone booth with Scorpion King stickers that I modified with Echo Obsession's URL. They included messages like "Worship Echo DAMNIT!" and "GOOOOOO! NOOOOWWW!" While I was doing that, a cooole chick named Stephanie came over and chatted with us for a bit. The venue opened, and we got our stamps and whatnot. Walking into the theater area... very disappointing. The Paradox needs some renovation... badly. The wall outside under the main sign was falling off. The venue itself is an actual theater, so there were fold-down seats like at the movies. Half of the seats had no... SEATS. More on that crap later. The bands started up and I had to pee really badly at the time. Don and I had no idea there was a restroom, so we walked like 4-5 blocks to a really nasty Jack In The Box where I ended up using the men's room. Hehe. Don buys food, bla bla. When we get back, mom and Brandon are waiting outside, wanting to leave 'cause the opening bands were kinda sucking ass. We left in search of a burger king. We thought, "Hey, it's Seattle, there's gotta be a burger king on every block!" No burger king ANYWHERE! Not near the venue anyway. So we find ourselves in Ballard eating at Taco Del Mar. This has nothing to do with my review. ANYWAY. We get back with about 30-45 mins to spare. Sitting outside... this really drunk guy in a blue plaid shirt who looks about 19 starts hitting on me and my mom. Very disconcerting. "Hey, I see you brought your sister with yooooo!" -Drunk guy to me. "Uhh.... no?"-me "Oh, is she your daughter then?" You get the point. We go back inside to escape, and I buy a start wars tee for Brandon, and an "Eno" shirt for me. Don started feeling pukey and headed to the bathroom. theSTART was about 5 mins away, so I haul ass to my usual spot, front and right. I would have been in front and center, but drunk guy was there. *shudder* They start with either The 1234 or Los Angelos, I don't remember. The whole setlist was changed. Drunk guy attempts to crawl onstage and grope Aimee throughout the whole show. That poor woman. He shows up in half of my live pics. The vibe was kinda weird. It was completely silent in between the first and second song. You know, Aimee usually does her witty stage banter thing... but no. Silence. Don eventually shows up behind me, feeling better, and me, him and the Stephanie chick start dancing. I wish I could remember the setlist this time. Aimee dedicates DVS to Bush and Greta Van Susteren's new facelift. At this point, all the "punks" there were leaving ("Uh-oh! She's talking about politics!"). They play Her Song, and this makes me heppy 'cause I hadn't heard them play it since Bellingham. At the end of Hi Flyer Jeff growls and Aimee fucking SCREAMS "LOOOOOOOOK ATTT MEEEEEEE!!!!!" It gave me chills. So that's all I can remember about the live set. Afterwards, we go outside to smoke, and I catch Jeff and get a pic with him. Don has him sign stuff. Feeling accomplished, we head back inside to bug Aimee. I buy a patch and the DVS EP again. She starts talking to Yalan of Dame Fate, swapping phone numbers n'shit. Jamie signs our flyer, studies the pic on it, and yells to Aimee, "Hey! Whatever happened to this shirt? It was cool!" (the dizzying black and white tank top with polka dots on the back) I say "Yeah, that was a damn cool shirt!" Aimee doesn't respond to him, and he looks kinda exasperated and says "She's not listening..." Afterwards, Jamie vanishes (he's a ninja), and Don and I talk to her, about what I can't remember, and we show her our new start circles tattoos. I have never seen this woman get so wide-eyed, ever. She calls Jeff and Jamie over, and they gawk. She reaches over the table suddenly, grabs me by the shoulders and is like, shaking me, I dunno! It was like a spasm or something. I get my pics with her, one where she's leaning her head on my shoulder all sexy-like, and one of us showing off our tats. Don goes to get his, and Aimee says "Are we getting our prom pictures now?" A crowd is forming around Aimee, so we just kinda stand there and wait for it to disperse. It doesn't. Some guy says Aimee looks like that chick from Pretty Girls Make Graves. She asks me if she really does and I say it's just that their hair is similar. They discuss dopplegangers. Don donates $5 to Herry The Happy Heretic Head, and we say bye and leave. No Brandon-attacking this time :( We'll just have to wait until next year... *evil grin*

July 20, 2002 - theSTART live @ Warped Tour 2002 @ The Gorge, Quincy, WA.

Mom, Terry, Don, Brandon and I get to the gorge about 2:45 and we were panicking because we had no idea when theSTART's set was. We wandered for quite a while, and Don finally found their merch tent. They went on the Maurice stage at 6:50, so we were ok. Wandered some more, found ourselves at The Starting Line's set (SUCK. Pop-punk crap). We watched the singer do his sing-while-smiling-painfully thing, which was disturbing. I find out that The Eyeliners went on at 4:30, and I had heard good stuff about them, so we watch them. They were really great; 3 chicks and a guy, EXTREME energy, power-punk stuff. After them we watch Finch. We'd seen them before, but goddamn, the singer was freaking out, making these screamy bird noises through their whole set. Twas entertaining.
We go check out The Eyeliners merch tent. I really wanted a tank top (I was wearing a size small "[the]star[t] wars" tee, black, no less, in 100 degree heat), but they were $12 and I needed to save my money for theSTART merch. So I buy an Eyeliners pin for $1. We wander aimlessly some more, find mom and Terry, buy soda, Don hands out flyers to get people to go to theSTART's set (I know I was supposed to do that too, but the heat was getting to me really bad), and we go to theSTART's merch tent again. This time Aimee's there, and she sees us and says "Hiiiiii kids!!!!" (she always remembers us). Bran buys a hoodie. I see the hoodie and fixate, THEN I see the "Death Via Satellite" EP for sale and freak. I decide not to buy anything yet because that's just more stuff for me to lug around. We talk to Aimee, I ask her if she's seen "Echo Obsession" yet, she says yes, and that it's beautiful, but then she explains how it's weird for her to say that, because it's.... HER, and basically she didn't want to sound conceited. I tell her I understand, THEN I ask if I can call "Echo Obsession" official. She consults her mom for a second then says yes! Don says to her, "You know, you just made her whole day." I was so happy, I was doing a little dance in front of the tent. Then we had to go to check out some bands, so we say bye and Aimee says "See you in an hour!"
We go over to the Maurice stage to wait for theSTART while Sw1tched was playing. They REALLY kicked ass. Right after they exit the stage, Don and I reserve our spot, front row and slightly to the right. There were only 5-6 people there, including 2 that are at EVERY one of their shows. A little bit later a couple more people show up. Then some more... and they went on and started with Nemesis as usual and this herd of people show up. I was so happy, Don had really done a great job harrassing these people. It was the biggest amount of people I'd EVER seen at one of their shows. A couple songs in, Aimee says "This song is for Kurt Cobain." and everyone is like "Nooooooo!" so she said something along the lines of "Wow, Washington, no Kurt Cobain?" and someone screams "COURTNEY LOVE!" so she says jokingly, "Yeah, this song is for Courtney." They go through sex, love, and various other things until she finally says "This song is for the used." and they play Hi Flyer. It was beautiful. Later they play Shakedown, and she tells everyone to dance. God that whole set was so wonderful... just... grrr. I was banging my head violently the whole time... I lost my bobby pin.
We go sit back down where mom and Terry were, I grab Terry's 45 ounce soda and chug it, then get a nasty stomach ache. But I get over it, and we go to theSTART's tent after directing several people there. They were being bombarded. Enough said. I buy my hoodie and the "Death Via Satellite" EP, and mom buys the EP. Don has a hard time getting the plastic off, so Dan gets it off for him. We love Dan. He's the man. Don gets Aimee to sign the EP and we're used to her just signing it "(anarchy sign)EcHo" over her head, but this time she writes that and "I (heart) U!" Eeeee! Mom gets hers signed while Jamie signs ours, and I finally ask Jamie if I can get a pic with him. He just kinda grabs me and gives me a wonderful Jamie hug and pushes his face against mine. My first pic with him... yay! Then Don gets his. I ask Aimee for another pic with her because I can never get enough of them, and she hugs me tighter for that picture than ever. Don gets his pic, and Aimee's kinda whispering things to him and he starts laughing and turns beet red. Mom gets a pic with her, and this whole time Aimee's been talking about attacking Brandon again, and she finally does. We get 3 pics of that, it was so great. GOD I FUCKING LOVE THIS WOMAN!!! Jeff never came to hang out, that made me kinda sad. So we say bye and go to check out other bands.
We end up sitting through Something Corporate without really watching them, and then Bad Religion came on, and they were AMAZING. About 6 songs in, Don, Branmuffin and I go to see Thursday at the Maurice stage, but we got the time all wrong and missed them. So we watched this band called 1208, and they were ok. I looked over where theSTART's tent was, and it was gone :(. I was very sad, 'cause we had money left and I wanted a patch. Oh well. When Don was talking to Dan, he said that they were coming back in September! I can't fucking wait. So then we leave and blah and blah. (theSTART was the only band there that didn't say "WHAT'S UP SEATTLE WASHINGTON!" HELLO, Seattle is 2 hours west from there! Or like Bad Religion, "WHAT'S UP YAKIMA!" Hahaha.. is it really that hard to say "Quincy Washington" or even "George Washington"??? Damn.)

June 21, 2002 - theSTART, Scarling and Breaking Pangaea @ The Revolution Room, Bellingham, WA.

Ahhhh... Friday was theSTART/Scarling show. Don, Josh, Chev, Brandon and I showed up at 12, and wandered around, handing out flyers for the show and for our band, and some random swag. We got food and shit, nuffin' exciting. We were the only people there for hours... we had put up flyers all over the venue and shit, and finally Josh and Don went to Rite Aid to get fluorescent poster board so people would FUCKING LOOK AND SHOW UP. Around 6:45, theSTART showed up and we talked with Aimee a while. She was amazed with the work we did with the flyers and the flags (I bought 2 american flags for $3 and wrote "The United States of theSTART" on one and "The United States of scarling." on the other) and our back patches. After Aimee saw one of the posters Josh had made with a drawing of her on it, she said something like "Wow... I look so cool! I look like Aeon-Flux!" Aimee took pics of us and Dan videotaped us to put on their site. Heeee! Anyway, after waiting around a while longer, scarling showed up, and Chev and I were freaking 'cause Jessicka was in that van. She hid until like 5 mins. before their set, though. Melanie was everywhere... she's so cute.
The first band came on. I think they were from Bellingham, and they were really good. Too bad I didn't catch their name. Breaking Pangaea was all right, they struck me as (even though I hate this word) very emo. After them I bought the Shakedown CD for Brandon, and a black theSTART babydoll for me. It's awesome, it has the Star Wars logo on it in yellow, and in front of "Star" it has the, and after it a 't', and Wars is crossed out. Don got a black and red theSTART tee. Shortly after, scarling is setting up. I overhear Christian telling one of the venue guys that if Jessicka's mic stand isn't high enough, and if she can't hear herself, she'll throw shit off the stage. So they come on finally, and the GODDESS comes out. She is fucking beautiful as ever. I start shaking. They start the first song, and she does her wonderful scream, and I nearly orgasm. She starts kicking Bobby, and is jumping all over the stage. A couple songs in, she calls to this preppy chick (half the girls there were preps and had gotten in free), "Hey dumb girl! Do you have any boy trouble?" She shakes her head no, and Jessicka kinda shoves her away. I think the chick ruined her dialogue. So they start the next song, and Jessicka turns from the stage, and starts cutting her forehead open. She points at fucking JOSH, who is standing right next to me, and summons him up to the stage. She puts her hand on his face, getting blood in his hair, and then grabs his hand out of his pocket, puts it on her bloody face, then on her boob, and shoves him away. Holy shit that was awesome. I wanted to take a pic, but I was in too much shock and it happened way too fast. Jessicka gets pissed because she can barely hear herself, and gets more violent with her bandmates. She talks about how she's gonna fire Christian, and in the middle of the next song, he exits the stage, and Melanie takes over lead guitar. Jessicka starts kicking the drum kit around, and Garey hurls his drumsticks at Don, and exits the stage. She falls on the ground, and everyone else leaves. It was intense... I dunno if this was a planned thing they did, but I was scared. Chev got half a drumstick and a whole bass string (Bobby destroyed his bass... the headstock fell off and I wanted to keep it so fucking bad). 15 mins or so later, theSTART goes on. I made sure to get like 4 feet from Aimee. They started with Nemesis, and I went nuts, as usual. They played a few more songs, some SPANKING new ones, called "Death Via Satellite" and "Los Angelos". Heee! Then they played MY SONG (Her song) and I freaked out, this song is so fucking beautiful, I almost cried. At the end of it Jeff fell down, I got a pic of it, and Aimee is all like "He's falling over... he's falling over...." hehehe. When they played "the1234" I couldn't help myself anymore and started dancing like madwoman. The venue owner grabbed Don and Josh, and started a respectful pit with them. Soon after, Chev and I join in. Then Jeff gets off the stage and starts playing in our pit (got a pic of that too). Their set ended, and I fell down on the ground, trying to breathe.
After that I chased down Aimee and asked her if I could have their setlist. She says "yeah, sure", so I go on the stage and grab it off the amp. Then she signed the list, Bran's CD, and I got a pic with her. I asked Brandon if he wanted one, but he's so shy he didn't say anything. Aimee jumps over the merch table and tackles Brandon. I got a pic of that, it was so cute. Brandon was blushing. I chase down Jamie, he signs my list and the CD, and he had Eno with him so I take a couple pics. That dog is too damn cute. I wanted to take him home with me. Soon after, Melanie shows up, and Chev and I get pics with her. I hunt down Jeff, and get him to sign my list and the CD. We all chat with him for a while, about our band (he was so happy that I'm a bassist... heee!), about the shirt I bought ("George Lucas is known for hunting down people who use his logo, so we're gonna get sued for that!"), Aimee tells us that chihuahuas are good pets for people with asthma, and mom shows up and has her eye on Jeff (she thinks he's a hottie) and we talk with Aimee some more. Then we had to leave! It was sad. Oh well, the show was fucking great, and oh my god this is a long entry.

March 22, 2002 - Moth, Finch, and theSTART @ Graceland, Seattle, WA.

Don and I usually get to concerts at least 6 hours early, but for some reason we didn't arrive to ths one until around 4:30 (1 hour before doors open). There really weren't a lot of people there yet, which disappointed me. We passed out our Deadsy swag, and some stickers for our band Rottencore, and eventually they let us in. I went into the main show area to wait for Don to get out of the bar, and I saw Aimee and Jamie. She is so damn small, I couldn't believe it (then again most famous people I meet are). I was star-struck for a minute, considering the fact that Aimee is my Goddess and all, but all that passed when Don came back and we went to go buy some merch. I thought it was really cool that Aimee was the one selling it. So we bought some buttons ("Ooooo look! A BLUE one! Here, take it, it's rare!" -Aimee, while handing one to me, taking one for herself and giving one to Jamie), a shirt (the one with the CD cover on it) and stickers. Aimee and Jamie sign my CD booklet. Jamie leaned over the counter and said "You're those Deadsy guys, aren't you?" "Yep!" - me and Don "You like them?" "Oh HELL yeah!" That was pretty cool. theSTART came on, and immediately blew me away with 'Nemesis'. They are definitely one of the few bands in the world that actually sounds better live. Everything after that was kind of a blur, but I do know they played Gorgeous, Glimmer Man, Melt, Shakedown!, Hang On Me, and some new ones ("Let's hear it for new ones!" -Jeff), Big Shot, and The 1234. The BEST fucking song they played though, was Her Song (MY song!) and Aimee dedicated it to all the women there that night, "especialy those in rock bands", and I just started going nuts in my little spot in the front row. Their set ended too soon (I just then realize I've taken 21 live pics), and while Finch came on we were half paying attention to them, but mostly kinda hanging around Aimee. We talked to her about getting a record deal, finding distributors and shit. Don always makes sure to make our band name very clear, hehe. So some chick wearing a Toilet Boys shirt has been standing there sorta listening, and she asked what our band name was and Aimee kinda yelled "Rottencore!" with glee :) Sometime after that, we went to get more stickers and buttons (we HAD to support them as much as we possibly could) and Don hands her a couple bucks for some stickers, and she just kinda shakes her head, and very covertly hands him about 10. She's so cool. About 10 mins. later, we see that Aimee has come out from behind the counter and is taking pictures with some girls, so Don and I haul ass aver there and ask if we can get some. She's like "Of course!" and suddenly grabs me and gives me the most wonderful Aimee hug for the picture. Don forgets to turn on the flash, and so I have to show him, and we take another pic ("I made the weirdest face in that one" -Aimee), then I take one of him and her. Shortly after, I find an abandoned red and black theSTART tshirt on the ground (SAD!). Of course I take it. The rest of Finch was cool, they have quite the fan following. I get Jeff to sign my booklet, Don gets Aimee's signature on his shirt, I get another Aimee sig. on a theSTART flyer for my brother, and somewhere along the way Don finds himself in Finch's van, listens to some underground Cali band with them, talks about music biz shit, and gets a drumstick. Moth sucked. That's all I have to say about that. We go out into the lounge to escape until Johnny (Graceland security and singer of Seattle band Himsa) tells us to get out 'cause I'm underage. So we endure Moth some more until we can get out. We go sit in the freezing cold to wait for my mom. On the way to the car after we see her drive by, Jeff starts spouting about how the essentials of life are ramen, weed, and coke (or something like that). I laugh and we leave. It's too bad I didn't see Scott all night, I'm missing his signature! I didn't see Eno either. But it was a WONDERFUL show. If you guys ever get to see theSTART, just keep buying merch! Aimee is a wonderful person to talk to!
